Some South African News: Prayer Call For ‘Born-Again Mayors’

The mayors of the three metros won from the ANC in the recent municipal elections are all born-again, says Janet Brann-Hollis of SA Back to God (SABTG) in an election-update video made in response to requests she has received for post-election prayer guidelines.

SABTG was one of a number of groups at the forefront of mobilising South Africans to cover the nation in prayer during the elections, and the first prayer topics that Bran-Hollis recommends are to pray for wisdom for the three new mayors, and for a smooth transition in their respective metros — Johannesburg, Tshwane and Nelson Mandela Bay. Other prayer pointers are to thank God for what He has done, and to pray against death threats and anarchy.

  1. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve never heard of a person in political realms, that are born again,…most though, if true, at least where I am, that if any become born again, usually leave their office, or in time, is proven that their conversion was false- for whatever reason,…it pays to be “born again” and in power , or at least appear to be…in the beginnings of “all” U.S. Presidents, it was told always that they are “Christian” of course, after what else we heard, seen, and proved further, as in the case of obama, was most certainly not Christian, but instead was the exact opposite. If a mayor in the earth is “Christian” their duties and actions of such will always be at war- a conflict in politics will always exist. For that reason, they will step down for their love of Christ, or they will use their newfound/confessed “change” to sway and or control the public opinions. We were not called to be in politics…in charge and gov’t’s of the church yes, but not of the world’s political systems. That, NEVER!
